Our Process

Starting a home improvement or construction project can be an intimidating experience whether it is a simple update, a complete addition or anything in between. At TLC, we use our past experience to guide you through the process step-by-step to help reduce that stress. While each project has a unique set of circumstances, we find most generally follow these steps.

Discover

We start with a complimentary meeting to discuss your project and ensure a clear understanding of your dreams, your unique requirements and needs, and your budget and time frame. We look past the visible and imagine the possibilities.

Draft

At this time, we develop a conceptual plan and prepare an initial scope of work and rough estimate for your proposed project. This step provides a summary of what will be done and outlines allowances for things such as cabinetry, plumbing, flooring, fixtures, etc. This gives you a straightforward estimate with full transparency into the costs involved. At the end of this stage, the customer signs a contract and makes a deposit in order to move forward with the project.

Design

Now we refine your scope of work and estimate. We establish open dialogue to find creative solutions and explore ideas for refining the layout, bring in subcontractors and finalize plans for structural and non structural changes. Appointments are made with preferred suppliers to guide you through the section process for desired finishes and fixtures such as cabinets, flooring, tile, etc. We want the features you need to be aesthetically pleasing as well as functional.

Do

Permits are acquired, selections are finalized and are materials ordered; construction can begin! We discuss any considerations and life during construction with you. We do our best to minimize disruption and inconvenience. Regular meetings and updates to establish good communications and keep you informed of progress. Clean up and walk through complete the project. Workmanship and materials are guaranteed.
