Building Experience Since 2001
John Bowman established TLC Construction in 2001, bringing together experience in commercial project management, residential construction, renovation, and hands-on craftsmanship. He began with handyman work and continued building the skills, relationships, and practical knowledge needed to grow TLC into a trusted design-build remodeling company.
Over the years, John has worked on kitchens, bathrooms, additions, basements, outdoor living spaces, and whole home renovations throughout the Rockford area. Every project has strengthened his understanding of how homes are built, how previous work can create hidden challenges, and how thoughtful construction can make daily life better.
Beyond Building
John believes good remodeling starts with listening and planning. He takes time to understand what is not working, what the homeowner wants to accomplish, and what the existing space will allow. From there, he helps develop a realistic plan that balances function, appearance, budget, and long-term quality.
His role is not simply to build what is drawn. It is to anticipate issues, coordinate the work, explain choices, and help clients make informed decisions along the way.
